Excalibur -
It looks like a castle in the River North, but that 60,000-square-foot red granite building with towers and bouncers at the door is Excalibur. This club is divided into three floors. The first floor dance club, The Cabaret, has ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s music, and those who don’t want to pay $5 cover for Club X, on the second floor, go here. Club X has a mix of house, hip-hop and Latin tunes, where the twenty and thirtysomethings get their groove on. Every last Wednesday of the month, go to the Dome Room to see DJ Alex Perez spin pop, alternative, reggaeton, and Spanish dance. There’s a $5 cover in advance or $7 at the door, but the specials make up for it - $3 Coronas and $4 Cuervo shots. Ladies, go downstairs if you want to find a guy...but you’ll have to tempt him away from pool, video games and virtual driving. The restaurant’s downstairs, too. Order the usual bar food and sandwiches, or upgrade to the VIP Platter: chicken pot stickers, Caribbean steak on a stick, hot spinach and artichoke dip, and cheese quesadillas.
