Opium Den, Lower East Side(CLOSED)

Opium Den - Opium Den is a small, plush lounge at the end of a residential section of East 3rd St in the east village. It's an attractive little lounge with exposed brick walls, marble tables, red and gold velvet curtains and gothic lighting. Off to the left of the entrance is a small private rectangular seating area with red velvet seating, cocktail tables and curtains. The rest of Opium Den is wall seating surrounding the mid-sized bar. At the end of the bar sits a set up for DJ's, who tend be closer to their audience than in other larger lounges. Opium Den is a great mid-week pitstop, although at the weekend, it can get alittle busy and resultantly cramped.
