Created by local retired Newark cop, Greg Gilhooly and retired deputy fire chief John Feely, Port 44 is the first brewpub of its kind in the city that was once a beer industry juggernaut. With an affinity for bringing people together over good beer and good food, Gilhooly and Feely designed the two-story brew pub and restaurant to feature the finest in house-brewed beers and American bistro cuisine. To revolutionize the brewpub industry, they brought award winning brewer Chris Sheehan aboard to artfully craft their array of fine beers.
Housed in a 1920's Venetian facade building, this unique setting was built for the order of foresters and was at one time, home to two famous Newark restaurants, hosting the elite scene of prominent CEO’s as well as local judges and politicians. Today, it is a beacon for impressive craft beers, appetizing pub fare and Newark’s premier headquarters for all local sports action!
