The Queen and Bathurst corridor has long been Toronto’s grunge central with venues like the heavy metal and punk-geared Big Bop complex, Queenshead Pub, former classic rock headquarters Healeys and hardcore nightclubs Savage Garden and The Bovine. But despite its gritty location, this brand new lounge and restaurant is putting some much needed “glam” into the neighbourhood’s “rock.”
In fact, Rok Boutique is grit free, with a striking hot pink and black décor, black jeweled chandeliers, leather chairs and shimmering black curtains. Token framed photos of Motley Crue and Guns N’ Roses provide a throwback to their 80s glam rock and hair band theme, but overall, this space is more for young urban professionals yearning to relive the yesteryears and sling back a Jim Beam instead of a martini.
