Given its Park Avenue location it’s should come as little surprise that Inside Park at St. Bart’s, located in one of New York’s most treasured churches, has as impressive of a wine and beer selection as it does (along with a full-bar where cocktails go for about $12). What is surprising is that among the 100 bottles of wine and 25 by the glass there are more than a handful that are mildly priced (think 20-something bottles of wine and $8 glasses). That said, there are, of course, plenty of $80-plus bottles and a menu of above-average, but pricey contemporary American dishes that go for between $10 and $16 for appetizers and $24 and $32 for entrees. Expect the typical mix of suits on business dinners, families, and older couples dining as jazz plays softly in the background at this wonderfully spacious and comfortable dining space that comes complete with a soaring ceiling, padded banquettes, an overhanging balcony, a raised dining gallery, 15-foot-high yellow and white stained glass windows, a 20-foot screen projecting old and modern photographs of NYC park scenes, and the bas-reliefs of Byzantium.
