Saddle Ranch Chophouse The Los Angeles, Venue Description

Saddle Ranch Chophouse The - Larry Pollack, Founder and President of Saddle Ranch Chop House, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and began mapping out his lifelong career goals at an extremely young age. Very early on, Larry developed a strong interest in the restaurant/bar business. Between his first job and the time that he opened his first restaurant, Larry worked in every aspect imaginable of the restaurant, bar and nightclub industry. From working the graveyard shift on the line of a burger joint to numerous other positions including food delivery, bartending, serving, promotions and business development, management and everywhere in between, Larry mastered the ins and outs of the business. Larry opened his very first restaurant, an Irish pub/sports bar, on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles in 1996. The pub became a huge hit with locals and visitors alike, and Larry quickly began contemplating his next venture. In 1998, Larry opened a rock-n-roll sushi bar on the same famous street, which also quickly proved to be a great success.

Saddle Ranch is just your average theme bar with little more than some weak attempts at originality. The "owner" was there with his bodyguard because apparently he needs protection in his own venues or he just thinks that he is so important that someone might want to bother him. The portions were large and filling, but the strip steak was nothing above an applebee's or any other cookie-cutter prefab restaurant. And the Keanu Reeves wannabe "manager" needs to pay more attention his staff than to the women walking around. After the average meal, we stayed to see if the club lived up to it's legend. One Word: OVERRATED. If tweeked out masses with little awareness to their actions is your idea of a good time, then get in line. If you do not want to stare at a couple dozen Paris and Nicole clones who are "slumming" it that night by riding a mechanical bull, then save the time and money and go to some place with substance or at least food worth more than a location next to a Starbucks.
