Thumbs up Thumbs down
The intimacy of this place will knock your socks off. The interior lavished mixture of black and brown decor is sensual and calming. The food is excellent. I had the Teriyaki Salmon which was grilled to perfection and the Pink Pepper Rolls which I was not that fond of thanks to the extra minty leaves inside.
However, the service was a notch under insulting. From the time I entered the building I was encouraged to sit inside at the booth closest to the counter. After I refused (several times) the rail thin hostess persisted with one final attempt to entice me to sit inside. My assumption led me to believe that she figured I would walk out on the bill. Anyhow, thereafter I ordered a lemonade which had a bug inside. As I got the hostess/waiterss attention, she wrote it off as "dust". Although she replaced the drink, I never saw her again until I saw her exiting the front entrance with an awkward grin aimed at me. After finishing my meal, I took the initiative to go to the counter to pay since no one bothered to check on me. When I mentioned to a male waiter that I would have like to receive another drink before I was done, his response was, "We dont offer refills." I told him that was besides the point. I wanted another drink regardless. What a sucky way to experience what seems to be a great place. This joins the list of thumbs up, thumbs down dining experiences.
