Beach Plaza Hotel - The De Carlos Bar is located in the lobby of South Beach Plaza Hotel. The name has been surrounded by mystery and many stories exist of its origin. It has been told that at the end of prohibition, The De Carlos Bar was opened by the Italian mafia as a legitimate business. Past and current bartenders claim of mysterious, unexplained happenings, friendly haunting while all seem to be done in good nature, they all revolve around Bombay Sapphire. It is thought that the drink of choice of Mr. De Carlos was indeed Bombay Sapphire. Regardless of its origin, The De Carlos Bar remains as in the past a popular hangout for visitors and locals alike in an atmosphere that's inviting and elegant, casual and intimate.
