Friendly, Knowledgeable Neighborhood Store

I love this place! The owner has been in the neighborhood for years. He will help you find the perfect wine for any occasion as he is very knowledgeable. In addition to a great wine selection, the store stocks a variety of liquors, champagne, and some mixers. Although Chelsea Liquor may look like any other liquor store, the owner's help and advice makes it a diamond in the rough. I also enjoy the classical music that is always playing in the background :)

Cheap, Friendly, and Opera!

Don't be fooled by the store front. There are some great buys (keep in mind this is NYC) and the service is friendly. The owner knows wine and could easily order you whatever you want on special order for a reasonable price. I've been living here a long time and don't mind walking an extra block. Opera music is always playing over the speakers to boot.
