National Underground - Gavin DeGraw, top 40 radio’s favorite singer-songwriter, teamed up with his brother to open this new Lower East Side rock and blues lounge. Despite the celeb quotient, the vibe is low-key, with simple tavern-like décor and just a few artsy modern design touches – albeit a few notches fancier than Martignetti Liquors, the dive bar that previously occupied this space. The venue plans to add bar food shortly and will showcase acoustic acts to go along with dinner until 8pm, followed later in the evening by louder rock and blues in the larger basement space.
