And thus, the next downtown hotspot-to-be enters with the unlikeliest theme: Canada. Yep, that Canada, as in moose heads, maple leafs and flannel. Gambling on the idea that the beautiful people will pay top dollar for trendy food and drinks in a more low-key atmosphere, the Inn LW12 serves up tasty small plates and classy wines in this cozy two-level wood-paneled brownstone. In the early morning hours, a bleary-eyed crowd begs its way in (there is a tough door for what it is) and soaks up the alcohol with Poutine - Montreal’s signature dish of greasy French fries covered in gravy and cheese.
