I HAVE LIVED IN NYC FOR 5 YEARS, BUTTER, MARQUEE, CAIN, LAVO.. ALL PLACES WE HAVE ROCKED OUT AND PARTIED... NOW HERE IN MIAMI I HIT UP MYNT WALL VITA ROKBAR... THE DOOR MAN AT SET IS A COMPLETE DOUCHEBAG. MY GROUP HAD A BOTTLESS YES 4 BOTTLES 4 FRIENDS SHOW UP LATE HE LET EVERYONE IN BUT 1 GUY. FOR 20 MINS HE JUST PLAYED ON HIS CELL PHONE AND WAS A DOUCHBAG LETTING MY FRIEND JUST SIT AND WAIT... THEN CHARGES HIM 25 BUCKS TO GET IN.
THATS THE LAST TIME WE ALL AS A GROUP GO TO SET EVER!!

That bald headed douche bag has been monitoring the door for years turning down as many people as possible. I've seen more people get turned away from this club than those going in. We tried to get in SET this past Sat night (November 28, 2009) and he was motioning to his "protege" how to handle each client trying to get passed the rope. Baldy allowed groups of people he KNEW in for free. There was no one else in line when we walked up. Then the "protege" approached us and said they are only offering bottle service. So I inquired.....he said minimum of TWO bottles and he could not give me a price on it anyway. I was with my husband (party of 2). There is no way we could finish off 2 bottles of liqour and they did not want us to. Obviously they did not want us in there. However, we watched several groups of girls exit the club and they were dog ugly---googly eyed.
I guess that is the preferred clientele baldy is interested in attracting to SET. If that is the case, "TAXI!!"

Oh, and SET is not the most exclusive nightclub. Mynt is more exclusive, the door guys also pick the wrong crowd there. Mynt is also not worth the trouble because it's kind of small inside and the ladies are older Eurotrash just like SET. The tricks to get past these moronic door guys is to do one or more of the following: dress like you have money, bring lots of girls with you, show up early like 11 (but then you ahve to wait 2 hours for the party to get rolling), buy tickets online, offer to reserve a table and buy bottles which are a couple hundred bucks, or show up with a promoter. This place actually has a privilege card that you can get, but they don't honor it! How stupid! That's how you know the management is not classy, they are just dumb and they are not good business people. They don't understand the concept of more people + better looking people = more revenue. So they keep their ugly friends there and no one else, and they pay the price for it. They will probably go out of business soon unless they are funded by drug money.

I live in SoBe and I can tell you that SET is probably not going to be a good way to spend your evening. It's definitely not an atmosphere for singles. It is all couples, and it is a Eurotrash crowd that all know each other. The drinks are expensive and not mixed well, the door guy sedrick is just not polite or respectable, he is trash. I mean, all bouncers are trash, but some are at least respectable trash. The girls at SET are uglier than the other SoBe clubs I've been too. Because the door guy doesn't let the right people in. He lets in the ugly Eurotrash girls (most are older 40ish women that have had botox etc) , and not the hot Miami girls. You will not see a hot latina, a hot black girl, a hot asian, or a hot white american girl at this club. Or hot guys for that matter. You will just see short fat greasy-haired Eurotrash with cheap striped shirts and bad cologne. The design of the club is neon stuff that is similar to Dream nightclub which I recommend, it's better than SET. The music is European techno which isn't bad, it's decent if you like that. I recommend Dream, Mansion, Club Louis, upstairs Clevelander, Liv, Delano (Florida Room), Sky Bar, Cameo. These are all much better experiences than SET. SET has potential but it is just mismanaged. They need to get rid of their door staff and hire better people. New bartenders would be a good idea too. It could be a great club if someone else owned/managed it.

this place is awesome. i love it here! i do have to admit that its hard to get into this place. you have to know someone & in our case, we walked in with promoters & didnt have to wait in line or whatsoever. so i suggest if you're planning to come here hit up a promoter around sobe so you wont have any problem. :)

cedric suck europeans suck. that guy cedrick is retarded.it has nothing 2 do with getting in to the stupid club, i get in all the time, within seconds, that guy cedric & a lot of the people in there have no class.. dude is right, they are fake ass people up in there, someone needs tell them this is america, but i guess they are so happy to be in america they just dont know how to handel it!
