As a general rule, the model-and-bottle clubs like Tenjune and Marquee tend not to hitch themselves to a theme or gimmick, besides the theme of “If You’re Not a Celebrity or Hot Girl or Rich Guy or Connected Person, Then Get the Fu*k Out.”Then again, some gimmicks work just fine, like the monster Buddha in Tao, or even the whole African vibe in Cain. Runway hopes to fall in the Tao/Camp, unapologetically decorating the place with a theme of fashion, models, and catwalks. Lined with wall-sized mirrors, the expected leather banquettes, and flatscreen TVs with what seems like “Full Fontal Fashion” on endless loop, Runway hopes to scoop up the a-listers who are fleeing their old stomping grounds in Chelsea.
