Cabaret à Mado - Some call the place tacky, but for pure enjoyment in the Gay Village, Mado is the place to be. Although house, the music of choice in the area, is sometimes played here, the musical direction is of the commercial variety. At first glance, the décor is nothing spectacular, not what you would expect from the owner, Mado, the most famous drag queen in Canada, so the entertainment must be top-notch, right? Even that’s not always the case, but when you put all the elements together, from the drag-queen shows to the ever-popular Tuesday nights, hosted by Mado herself, the place is uninhibited party central, with FUN being the central theme. Some spend the night here while others go to Mado to either start or end the night. Either way, the place is usually movin’ and groovin’!
