Death & Co - Certainly as dark, but much more comforting than the name suggests, Death and Co. is clearly aiming to be the new East Village hipster hangout. But this is no village dive - the young crowd here is fashionable and dressed extremely sharp for relatively run-down Sixth Street. The crowds are already waiting in line most nights to get into this elegant speakeasy style bar. Behind the giant imposing wooden doors, Death and Co. is a surprisingly classy spot with chandelier-lit booths and gold-plated walls. A high-end comfort food menu and original specialty cocktails promise that Death and Co. will be more than just another gimmicky secret bar.
