Alfishawy - A trendy new neighborhood spot in up-and-coming Petworth, Alfishawy takes the D.C. habit of being all things to all people to a new level. Alfishawy is a coffee shop, restaurant, Shisha bar, Internet café, and nightclub, all in a teeny one-room space. The weekly schedule includes open-mic poetry, amateur comedy night, hip-hip Fridays, and ladies night on Tuesdays. Despite the eclectic lineup, Alfishway has a unique local flavor that is hard to come by. An all ages crowd plays chess and sips coffee throughout the day, while the nighttime events host a younger scene.
