Hawaiian Tropic Zone New York, Venue Description

Hawaiian Tropic Zone - So you want to escape Times Square tourists and the pressures of your nearby office while staring at pretty girls in barely-there getups? No, the area hasn’t returned to its strip club heyday, but the smiling barmaids in Nicole Miller-designed bikini tops & sarongs bring a glimpse of spring break all year in the heart of the Theater District. The bi-level space feels more like Vegas than it does Maui, with its barrage of glowing orange lights, freakishly green plants, an indoor waterfall, and an immense display of TV’s above the bar showcasing Hawaiian Tropic’s finest. One sip of the dizzyingly sweet house cocktails will have you longing for a beachside chaise lounge with your own personal HTZ girl to attend to every need. Oh, and the food's not too shabby either.

had a great time
i went with my girlfriend last friday and we had a great night. We got there a little after 1. There weren't any lines so we decided to give it a try. We got comped admission, the place had a decent crowd. Not too packed like other places where there isnt any room to move around. Get across the room required a slight effort. There were definately more girls than guys. One of my guy friends got there late (2:15am) and had difficulty getting in by himself - but he was able to get in with another girl. There really isnt a formal dance floor, people just get their groove on around the entire place. Depending on what you're in the mood for, you can pretty much hang out at the bar, chat it up, break it down or just sit back n relax anywhere. Overall - we had a great night.

horrible horrible hrrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had my 21st b-day at this place once i got there at around 11 the line was down the block i had a guestlist of about 35 people for weeks once there i had to wait online w/ everyone else. once inside it was sooooooo packed you could't dance or order a drink. security were constantly rude. there were 10 people on the line who never made it in and after 12 no guys were allowed in with out a female per guy! after 1pm no guys were allowed in at all. i was promised a table and a bottle of champagne since it was my b-day and i had a guestlist ,we got a lame excuse for a table that sat 3 people next to a huge speaker which later taht night fell on my friend's head. the cops were called. We demanded to speak to the manager abd 3 bouncers claimed to be he or she. we were outside trying to talk to the cops and the bouncers woudn't let us back in to get our coats. this is no exageration the worse club i've been to and being that it was my big b-day the worst club experience in my life. will never go back. don't recomend at all.
