Harlem Bar -
What happens when two restauranteurs decide to transpose New York City into Atlanta’s ever evolving nightlife? Magic. Catering to the urban affluent, the Harlem Bar is a gem in the once defunct Edgewood, Auburn area. Filled with food, like the infamous catfish fingers that literally melt in your mouth, music by an assortment of djs and service by a sexy young staff, Harlem Bar is a must experience. Seventies black exploitation film flashbacks add to this small but comfortable environment already laced in polished wood and soft yellow lighting. Management sits table-side with patrons to the dirt on food quality and customer service. Be sure to order two cocktails at a time because bar service is polite but fast. Libras and the undecided beware; you may end up sober and thirsty. Nirvana is found in the bar’s signature Bronx cocktail or Affirmative Action. The Harlem Bar is a spot that caters to its guests, where everyone’s an Average Joe no matter their social status or income. Note to reader: This is not your small side dish tapas bar, if you venture into the Harlem Bar, treat it like you would Harlem itself; proceed with caution and enjoy every minute.
