Vu, The - Renovated in 2003, The Vu boasts an ultra modern look, with large booths and padded chrome and leather bar stools. The ceiling is studded with thousands of white lights giving off a celestial illusion after a few martinis. If you start jonesing for the real thing, step outside on the terrace facing Windsor, Ontario for sprawling eyeful. To say the club is intimate would be an understatement--let's just say if 30 people squeeze onto the dance floor, their experience would be more orgasmic than rhythmic. The drinks here are pricey, but the quick bar and food service more than make up for it. The best time to come on 1st and 3rd Thursdays and every other Friday when live music is on the menu. The rest of time, bland Muzak is piped through the room. (It's quite ironic with Vernon English, one of hottest DJs in the Midwest, managing the venue.) The Vu is a great place to hang out after work, cozy up to a special someone, or grab a burger and beer before a Red Wing’s game. The crowed is very well healed, so be sure to take your credit card and pick up you best outfit from the cleaners.
