The Manor New York, Venue Description

Manor, The -

Taking a cue from the provincial country themes pervading the design and fashion landscape, The Manor takes the lounge scene back to the basics.  Forgoing the usual pomp and pastels for rustic romanticism, the once-florid Pink Elephant was gutted to make way for a minimalist, yet decadent hunting lodge complete with pony-fur banquettes, a gold-leafed DJ booth, back-lit pastoral scenes and rich hardwood, velvet and leather accents.  Unlike its older MPD brethren, The Manor’s entrance is quite discreet, with gas light lamps and a slender laser-cut sign bearing its logo above the velvet rope.  Once through, you’re met with a nutty, wood-framed bar and a sleek mirrored wall leading to the main floor and downstairs trophy room.  Hosting a hodgepodge of clientele from asymmetrical nouveau rockers to staid button-down businessmen, The Manor is the quintessential crossing ground for both the downtown and uptown elite. Padded corrugated walls absorb the selection of rock, 80s and mash-ups, while palm trees add a curious dash of tropical escape. Had enough idyllic indulgence?  Take advantage of the club’s Cadillac Escalade service which chauffeurs VIPs to their desired destination.

Poor Work Ethics & Club Management
Aside from the fact that I am underage I was employed by the Manor & treated like a dog. The owners, not all. But ONE of them is such a pig he literally threw me out of the club in front of guests and acted like an immature stuck up child. I think this club should lose their liquor license because it is extremely easy for minors to get a hold of a drink. I definitely did. To top everything off about this club, It is extremely over priced for the quality of their service. I'm also filing a complaint to the police department about the clubs reckless behavior with me, and their "off the books" employee & as well their irresponsible use of their liquor license.

I will never ever go back
I was never treated so poorly and so rudely ever in my life. I will never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone.

NEVER AGAIN!
I went for my birthday because their promoter told me he would take care of me and my guests. The men were charged $30 to get in and they refused to let in my other guests unless they were buying a bottle. A bunch of us were already inside spending $15 a drink so we shouldn't have had to buy a bottle. If that were the case, they should have told us that before we spent so much on drinks. They didn't care that we left a different place for Manor and were treating us very poorly. We were told by a man who supposedly owned the place that my friends had to buy a bottle and that they didn't care what the promoter told me. The music was good but not worth the treatment we received. We can listen to hip hop and reggae anywhere else. I would not recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I would recommend that people stop going. I am so disgusted and in awe with the way I was treated on my birthday that I will never do business with the place ever again.

Never again
It is such a shame that with the money that people spend to get into these places and the money spent on drinks, they still only care about making more money. I went there for my birthday and was promised by the promoter that me and my guests would be taken cared of. Not only were the men charged $30 to get in but they refused to let in some of my other guests unless they were buying a bottle. With the number of people I already had inside and the $15 we were spending on drinks, we shouldn't have had to buy a bottle and if that were the case, they should have told us that before hand. We left a different place to go there and were treated very poorly. They didn't care about that either. We were told by a man who supposedly owned the place that they were not letting my friends in unless they were buying a bottle and that they didn't care what the promoter told us. The music was good but not worth the money we spent in there and the treatment we received. We can listen to hip hop and reggae in just about any other spot now. We ended up in Duvet and had a much better time. I would not recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I would recommend that people stop going. I am so disgusted and in awe with the way I was treated on my birthday that I will never do business with the place ever again.
