Eyebar Washington, Venue Description

Eyebar -

Eyebar vaulted to the front of the D.C. street cred list when Allen Iverson got arrested after brawling here, but the narrow space is surprisingly low-key and unpretentious. This Euro-style dance and DJ lounge is hidden between downtown office buildings and recently opened a larger second floor space. It does boast a velvet rope and dress code, but the reality is it’s pretty difficult to get turned away here. No sneakers (on guys), but that’s about it. An older crowd kicks back through happy hour with jazz and fondue, while late-night gets bumping with DJ’s spinning up-tempo house and trance music for the youngin’s. There’s never a cover, so expect to wait in line for awhile on the weekends.

very poor customer service
My recent experience began when we got advanced tix with free open bar. We got there and got to the second floor of the bar. The bartenders were all women, who decided to only serve the men. After 1.5 hours of waiting, the open bar was closed and she was told by security to start charging. She shouted "YES" and "finally." We did not get any free drinks during this time. When we were finally served, we paid 8 dollars/drink which was fine. we charged 4 rounds to our credit card. The problem came when I asked to close out and told my friend that I was tipping her 1 cent. She then told me that I was not allowed to "talk to her that way." She refused to give me my credit card and my license back. I said I can leave whatever I wanted and asked for my credit card and my license back. She took my receipt and showed it to the other bartender and laughed; apparently not knowing that 1 cent meant poor service. I then requested to talk to the manager about the poor customer service. He agreed that it is up to the customer whether to leave 1 dollar, 10 dollars, or nothing at all. Whether you are a man, woman , White, Black, Indian , Hispanic or Asian, you deserve to get equal customer service. I suggest you spend your money elsewhere.
