Brass Monkey - A rule to live by – avoid college bars unless you attend the same college as everyone else there. Brass Monkey, typical of most college bars, is crowded, loud, and stuffed with people who all seem to know each other, making mingling difficult for the outsider. Everyone seems to be in a middle of a conversation that you know nothing about. Even if you hate conversation and only care about the booze, Brass Monkey should still be avoided. The selection of beers and mixed drinks are reasonably priced, but the space is so packed it’s impossible to enjoy them. Another rule: if it’s impossible to walk from one end of the bar to the other without spilling your drink, it’s not worth the hassle.
