Deano's Cafe & Lounge - Located on East Madison Street in Seattle’s Central District, Deano’s is a favorite for traditional Southern cuisine. The old building could use renovation, but a lot of cozy touches decorate the walls, and the hearty food is what patrons seek anyway. Generous servings are standard and served by “Ms. Helen”. Be sure to try the piping-hot crunchy cornbread dripping with butter, black-eyed peas, sweet baked yams and the smoky greens. The club features Two Dollar Tuesdays, where all drinks are $2.00 each. Bring cash, as credit cards and checks are not accepted. Unfortunately, the club has faced legal problems with the city recently, stemming from allegations from neighbors regarding drugs, prostitution and fighting behind the club.
