I must say, I just moved to Knoxville and heard that the carousel was a good place to go...but that's not the case. The place smelled like sewage the entire time, the place is cash-only, and the drag show was HORRIBLE!!! I would advise against stepping foot in such a nasty, disgusting, and extremely over-priced environment!

Carousel is not the best in knoxville, it is the only 18+ gay place, but there are better places when you hit 21+. $5 for 21+ $7 for under. Best time to go is only friday and wednesday, other nights are dead. The drag shows are tiring with the same people, the only good one is Anastasia and wednesday nights is amateur night and will give you a taste of the talent that isnt on their cast. Their management doesn't change anything, so it can get boring and the music on the dance floor is never the best. I've been here 3 years and they have not changed much and dont have any college specials even when they live next to UT apartments. I've had the management falsely accuse my friends of underage drinking and they will hold your ID till the next night for some unknown reason. For a better time try Sassy Anns on thursday, Kurtsbar, maybe even venture out to Valarium where they play dj mixes and has a better club feel. Or if you feel risky, visit Club Play in nashville, the best in the state where its free for college kids on wednesdays.

The Carousel is the best gay bar by far in Knoxville. The drag shows are always awsome!! The people who work there are so friendly... well most are. Its always packed on friday nights. Wednesday nights are more laid back.. its a night to sit back and watch the show. I would perfer this club to anyone! Its 18+ 7.00 for 18-21 and 5.00 for 21+.

Does it have a cove fee like do u have to pay to get in? if so how much is it? or if no how do u get in?

The Carousel is the place to be on friday nights for gay men and women ages 18+ the crowd is usually between 18-30 drag show is really awesome they have the best beer bust in town 7 dollars all you can drink until 2 am plus other drink specials not to mention you dont even have to go to the bar to get your beer waitress come around and top your beer right off! ITs the place to spend friday and Wednesday nights!

I work at the carousel. Have been there for almost 3 years. Don't know anything about carpet mopping! That aside...If you want to come out we will show you a good time! Hell, we can even buy you a few rounds!
