Buffalo Saloon Deadwood

we have been to deadwood several times and always go to listen to yancy. he is a very good entertainer and enjoys mixing it up with the crowd. I know my sisters and i love it when he gives us a bad time. we will be back for more.

We were there in June of 2007 and had the pleasure of listening to the music of Yancy DeVeer at the outdoor cafe. We could hardly tear ourselves away, except our husbands insisted!! When we returned with ice cream for one more song, Yancy referred to us as "The Ice Cream Girls"! Made our day, and we are still talking about it!! We also have bought 2 CDs of his music!

Yancy DeVeer has played this bar for years, much to the chagrin of the city of Deadwood. People in the restaurant hoping to enjoy a meal in the large outdoor eating area will soon find Yancy DeVeer "entertaining" them. While he does play some music, a portion of his act includes what he calls "colorful" language even though the restaurant allows children. The unfortunate night I was there, the topics included gay bashing and singling out diners and making fun of anything they might be a bit self-conscious about. I would expect this at a Chris Rock concert, not while dining in an open-air restaurant.
