121 Club, Philadelphia

121 Club - Hip-hop and jazz have become so mainstream, it’s often disappointing how diluted the sound is at most clubs.  Alas, all hope is renewed at Club 121. While this rowdy and reclusive hip-hop/jazz club is tough to find, and even tougher to get in, the music showcased inside is worth the trouble.  If you do happen to charm the doorman, the crowd is relaxed but wary; it’s rare this joint gets non-regulars.  Fancy dressers and great dancers are encouraged and respected as Club 121 respects fashion and style.  While the dance floor is impossibly packed, DJs laying old school rap tracks and recent club favorites make it hard to resist.
