1729 - They don’t advertise. They don’t promote. And they sure as hell don’t know why you’re there – but the drinks are cheap and the company is, at the very least, non-threatening. 1729 is a bare-boned bar, no frills, no excuses. Its crowd isn’t friendly, and they’d thank you to keep your yap shut. If you want to get drunk in peace, go here. Most Philadelphians have never heard of it, and there’s little doubt why.
