The Decline of Draw Ten Bar and Grill
Let me start out by saying that I have spent way too much money at this establishment and have frequented the bar since 2004. I mean, I have brought many friends and had many parties here back when it was nearly empty during the light rail build, and even during times when it was really hopping and full of customers. It happens to be very close to my work place and used to be a great place to unwind from the work day, have a brew and some awesome wings. This all changed last year as the ownership of Draw 10 changed and a new owner took over. Over the past months since the ownership change, the bar has steadily declined. The food selection has suffered and quality has become cheap and worse. The bars service has suffered and dissolved to the point where it's amazing anyone but the owner’s personal friends ever even stop in to the place. The bars perfect selection of beer has been replaced to make room for cruddy local micro-brew trendy junk. It's pricing and over all drink selection has deteriorated. Worst of all, the new owner acts like the place is his personal back yard bbq. He has no inkling of customer service, and his attitude is rubbing off on the current employees. For example, if on a typical Friday night towards the end of last year, myself - a regular patron at the time - decided to spend my hard earned cash on the juke box to break up the seemingly nonstop flow of Country music the place had been playing for the hour I had been there. The new owner comes over and refuses to allow myself, a paying customer, my selection of songs which I had already paid for. The owner did refund the money, but not until considerable embarrassment and total disrespect for his customer in front of everyone at the bar had occurred. I do realize the bar is filled with the owner’s friends on a Friday evening, but a nice "Don’t Use" sign or something obvious taped to the bill collector on the juke box would be a much more fair option. Apparently, the new owner doesn't understand what customer service means, and doesn't value his customers business. I, for one, will tell everyone I know never to spend a dime in this establishment again. I have never been treated like this before and cannot condone the owner's and his bartender’s actions and lack of customer service with my dollars again. I guess all good things must come to an end or are corrupted by greed and lousy service. I really miss the preview owner, at least the understood food and service business basics like not to treat their paying customers like toilet paper.
