Aqua Restaurant & Bar - This middle-of-nowhere Northeast club is a whole different scene for D.C.--a far cry from the clubs of Adams Morgan and Georgetown. You wouldn’t even notice Aqua driving down New York Avenue, but once you’re inside it’s hard to imagine how. The cavernous space features a massive sunken dance floor where a racially diverse crowd dances to a mix of house, techno, and hip-hop, while others chill out in the separate drinking and dining room. Dress to impress would be an understatement here: don’t forget your pimp coat and fedora. Call ahead on weekdays as the club is often reserved for private parties.
