Karl Reef New Prt Rchy

I drove up from Clearwater to hear a friend's band and was the DD for my party. I ordered several Cokes and then switched to water. When I asked for my bill I discovered that I was charged $2/Coke (which come in 6 oz. cups). My waitress agreed that it was a rip-off and that she was also being given a hard time by her manager for bringing me so much water. (4 cups over 5 hours). When I asked to speak to the manager the waitress came back and informed me that he/she (??) said that's just the way it is. They couldn't even be bothered to come speak with me. Needless to say I will not go back to this blight of a bar in New Port Richey and I will be sharing this experience with anyone I can. I can't believe a bar wouldn't do more to promote responsible drinking. And I won't even get into the clientele this place attracts!

I had the pleasure of catching the Mark Anthony band at the reef, And they biew my sox off. What a show,Hot women eveywhere and the the dancefloor packed. And that Female singer? All I can say is DAMN. Not only is she HOT, But there was'nt a song she did that didnt sound like that artist. in some songs even better than the artist. Not to mention the HOT bartenders and waitresses. I will be back!!

We have had several wonderful nights at the Reef . Several of my close friends from work are saturday night regulars .I have attended a couple of their birthday parties there in the last 6 months and every time my wife and I get a hotel near by so we don't have to make the long drive back to st pete . It is always a wonderful time with lots of dancing and good music . The waitress's are wonderful very attentive and one girl even did a hula hoop dance kind of thing at the end of the night that was a pleasure to watch , my wife enjoyed too . We ordered our last drinks at last call and then the lights came on . Because we had been there for Terry's birthday and him and Kathy had already left we felt obliged to help clean up the area where we were having the party . Next I hear the bouncer at the bar chanting time to leave finish your drinks etc etc . We had spent well over $200 if not $300 and had the hotel so yes we were trying to make the most of the evening . I finished my beer and put it in the garbage can by the back doors and my wife got up to use the rest room . The bouncer from the bar that had been chanting so rudely then came and reached around me for my wifes drink and said " I guess the lady is done with this drink " with out giving me a chance to say anything he took her drink still half full double tall rum and coke behind the bar and poured it out . I was quite angry and am very suprised at this persons actions thinking with that attitude he may cause more fights than he ends and we have not been back since !!!!

If the dance floor is empty that"s a bad thing (DJ or Band). If you play the right type of songs (this requires being OPENMINDED) the girls will dance. Girls ALWAYS want to dance. The guys will follow wherever the girls are. Both will be thirsty and drink more. Simple bar math, like salty snacks. People that are dancing will attract more people. I am the guy dancing all night long (usually the girls ask me). I usually have 2 to 8 girls I dance with. They like Borderline ad Classic rock, everyone just takes a break when bands play what they want (Non-Dance), as opposed to what the girls want (dance), just because they cannot or will not learn new songs. Can't B*!(# it's only a $3.00 cover and the bar is two miles from home.

DJ Dave - Ohh La La is ....well the name speaks for itself. Pink Floyd and similar band music is for the refined listener and those that don't have to jitter bug around the dance floor. However, there are those talented enough that can dance to just about anything!

Most patrons are going to Stilettos to see Ohh La La. They are the best band that has ever played atthe Reef. The rest I just tolerate. Who can dance to Pink Floyd the Wall? that's just retarded (Stormbringer). They are jamming out to there favorite rock ballads and the floor is empty, get a clue. Not everyone is s#*! faced enough to dance to crap.

Ive been to the Karl Reef and have always Had a good experience there, its always clean and everyone seems friendly and is far from a Dive bar and theres Bouncers all over which makes me feel safer haveing that extra drink Ive even had one walk me to my car, what other club/bar doorman/ security does that ? I think this Place rocks is the best around that ive seen so far and the Bands they have there are alwasom especially OHH LA LA and Stormbringer
