Could be the weather (the girls wear sexier outfits), could be the fact that the Winter Music Conference, The White Party, and The Ultra Music Festival are all held there, or could be the fact that the musical focus is on house and electro pop (versus rap and hip hop). Whatever the reason, Miami’s nightlife is the best in the U.S.A. Sound, light, lasers and plush surroundings make clubbing in Miami Beach as a good as it gets - this side of Ibiza. Mansion is being re-done to reach a whole new level of dance fever excitement and Amnesia will re-open with a roof this time. Stay tuned…I’ll let you know what they’re like.

Not today, but on Sunday, October 16, 2011 there will be.  Because, on that day, the President of The Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality is flying in from San Francisco to South Beach to award my mother an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Erotology and Sexology. That’s right, for enhancing the cultural life of the country and educating the world through her World Erotic Art Museum, she is being formally recognized for her achievement. A six-year anniversary party for the museum will follow the ceremony. I can’t believe I have to start calling her “Doctor Naomi.” Doctor Ruth, you’ve got competition!

A mini Twilo, a tiny Pacha, a baby Sound Factory…any one of these descriptions play the highest of all compliments to New York’s newest and coolest club - District 36. Just as the three legendary clubs I compared it to, District 36 offers the best sound system, the best laser lighting, an incredibly cool VIP area, and DJ booth. Anyone who enters will be impressed with the throbbing, but not overpowering music, the four multi-colored lasers showering the club with colors I’ve never seen before: silver, purple, and turquoise, just to name a few. There's also a floating DJ booth where VIP guests can get close to their idols behind what looks like a batting cage. Maybe they chose a batting cage because this club is a homerun? Be prepared to dance your ass off. Warning: This club is NOT for beginners.

On October 17th, I get to go to the best charity event in the history of New York. The Angel Ball was started years ago by songwriter and philanthropist  Denise Rich to honor her daughter Gabrielle Rich Aoud, who succumbed to cancer in her early twenties, and to raise money for cancer research. This year’s performers and presenters included Patty Labelle, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Eve, DJ Cassidy, Ethan Zohn and “The Voice” winner Javier Colon.

The world-class entertainment, food and crowd put you in such a great mood that you can’t wait to bid on silent auction and live auction prizes. Denise Rich is not just the life of the party, she is proof that not all angels live in heaven. She has raised millions and millions of dollars over the years and has saved countless lives, while at the same time giving her party guests the most entertaining night of their lives. Now that’s talent!

This week is a tough one. Shall I go out to the Hamptons and chill for the weekend now that the crowds are gone and the is traffic non-existent or should I stay and watch the models strut their stuff in a thrilling fashion show followed by an incredible after-party somewhere? Decisions, decisions. I think I’ll start off with the fashion week fuss, take a break on Saturday and go out to the Hamptons, then resume my fashion week festivities on Monday. I’m a fan of the Gaga-like designers. All the other stuff (normal clothes) bore the hell out of me. But you knew that of course, only a hot cape or garment with a peace sign on it gets ME excited. And, I will be wearing one of my spectacular custom-made creations in the front row at a Trump Tower fashion show, sitting next to a real Russian Princess for a Planet PR organized event. I don’t know what’s going to be more fun, meeting the Princess or seeing the most stunning women in the world strut down the runway to my new hit single “Live For Today.” Another tough one.
