DJ AM's 800 Pairs of Sneakers Auctioned on Ebay

DJ AM was a huge sneaker head, owning over 800 pairs of kicks from Eminem Air Jordan 4s to Supa Dunks and Hyperstrikes. His collection included limited edition sneakers reserved for super fans like him, and old school shoes that are valuable antiques in the sneaker world.

Now, almost all of his sneakers are being sold at on eBay until Monday, December14th. If you are a huge DJ AM fan, are a sneaker head yourself, or just want to contribute to a good cause, this auction is definitely the coolest way to go about it. Proceeds will benefit the DJ AM Memorial Fund.

“The DJ AM Memorial Fund maintains the legacy of Adam Goldstein through extending his commitment to helping others struggling with addiction,” the release detailing the sale explained. “Contributions will help organizations and projects committed to addressing issues of addiction and recovery. The fund is powered through the non-profit group Creative Visions.”

As of Monday night, a pair of black and red Nike Dunk Low Pusheads was up to $1,150 while a pair of Nike Air Force 1 Euro JD in Gold dust was going for $125. This is surely the most entertaining eBay auction we have seen since the motorized La-Z-Boy, and it is benefiting a much more heartfelt cause.

For many of us, Halloween is a simple excuse to maximize the usual loss of inhibitions and live out our fantasies for the night. What’s better than a holiday that sanctions a little light role-playing for everyone? Kids shouldn’t be the only ones that get to enjoy playing dress-up. After a long year of hard work, nine-to-fivers deserve a day to make these crazy fantasies public and show the world their kinkier side without feeling ashamed.

Like the mantra Lindsay Lohan’s character in Mean Girls immortalized: “Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.” The girls who usually say something about it are the ones too chicken to dress provocatively on any other day of the year.

On the other hand, Halloween is the only time men can get away with wearing super-tight pants or girl clothes without immediately being labeled as a cross-dresser. They’re usually all huddled in a corner with their “clever” costumes, such as a human-sized tampon or Facebook page, ogling over the sexy nurses and French maids.

Some women may use it as an excuse to take advantage of their "one slutty day a year" opportunity, but men just use it as their “one day a year for mass public eye candy,” without having to pay a nasty looking stripper to enjoy a good flesh-bearing show. After all, there’s nothing wrong with young women wanting to feel sexy or a straight man wanting to wear eyeliner, but only on Halloween, of course.

Halloween is a night where a feminist becomes a sexy police officer and a chauvinist becomes a tranny. A night of infinite possibilities where stereotypes will be broken, genders will be crossed and moral debauchery will amass. Fantasies will be brought to life, all morals will be lost and inhibitions will be lowered.

Every double standard men and women forgave for each other the previous night will rush back on the morning of November 1st. It’s always awkward when you wake up to a half-dressed nun with mascara running down “its” face-male, female or unknown. Don’t be a Halloween Grinch and take advantage of your Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card.

Halloween is a time when you can pretend to be someone that you’re not. By using your imagination, you can be anyone you want to be. Kids usually take the time to dress up as their favorite animated characters and go trick-or-treating.
