Now that you’re feeling pumped up for the greatness that is Art Basel Miami, you’re most likely ready to dive in and enjoy the festivities of this year’s exhibition. But, before you cannon-ball into the four day fest you might want to check out the list of events and shows we’ve prepared for you.

Event: Art Public Opening Night
Venue: Collins Park
Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Cultural planner and artist, Theaster Gates and the Black Monks, will be performing a response to the featured works of art through song and verse. Afterwards, there will be a performance of combined images of punk, film noir, sci-fi, and traditional Samoan dance by Sanford Biggers and Moon Medicine. You won't want to miss this because in addition there will be an improvised turntableism and veejaying video at the Oceanfront. If you're not geeked out by this, then maybe the next sector might be of a greater interest.

In celebration of its tenth anniversary and collaboration with the Bass Museum of Art, Art Basel is kicking things off with Art Public at Collins Park. They're transforming the park with outdoor sculptures, interactive performances, installations and all things awesome for everyone to enjoy on November 30th.

Event: Art Video
Venue: Soundscape Park
Friday, December 2, 2011

Amongst the tangible pieces of art there is a new edition to the festival. Featured films and video works by "exciting" international artists will be screened on the 7,000-square-foot outdoor projection of the New World Center at SoundScape Park.

This weekend a screening of 'Americania' offers an intriguing insight on the the thoughts many artists have on the country. Marulyn Minter, Neil Hamon and Tony Tasset and more will have their videos showcased. If this doesn't butter your biscuits then maybe finding out the inspiration behind the featured works will be more of your taste.

Event: The Art of Dancing w/ Danny Tenaglia
Venue: Wall at The W Hotel
Saturday, December 3, 2011

A mixture of paint brushes, turntables, and of course dancing will be blended to your liking this weekend. The one and only Danny Tenaglia will be showing off his skills at the W Hotel's Wall. If you've never been a part of a Tenaglia set before, now's the time to pop your cherry. This guy's music will have you on your feet for hours on end.

Event: Moby, Art Basel Edition
Venue: Mansion
Saturday, December 3, 2011

Moby's playing in Miami this Saturday night. Need we say more? The DJ/musician/artist is serving up a set at Mansion and chances are it'll be one of the most sought after events to date at the space. With the Basel crowd taking over Magic City this weekend, don't expect this to be your typical night at Mansion.

Event: Rony Seikaly
Venue: Space
Saturday, December 3, 2011

He once balled it up for the Heat in the early '90s, now he's tearing up a local DJ booth near you. Rony Seikaly takes his talents to Club Space Saturday night for an event featuring his signature sound. He's released some highly touted hits recently,  but playing Space is an achievement in itself.

Event: Get Lost Art Basel
Venue: The Electric Pickle
Sunday, December 4, 2011

Leave your maps at home ladies and gents because you won’t ever want to be found. DJ’s Clive Henry, Damian Lazarus, Danny Daze, Deniz Kurtel (Live), DroogEduardo, and many more will guide you through a musical journey that will have you in a zone unlike no other. The Pickle is known to throw some of the best underground dance music events in the country, and this weekend will be no different.

Event: Art Basel Conversations
Venue: Miami Beach Convention Center
December 1-4

Simply put, artists will describe their pieces to a larger panel that features distinguished artists, collectors, museum directors and curators and more. The artists get a chance to present their current works and anticipated projects. They'll discuss some of the challenges they faced as well as where they drew their inspiration.  You can catch these intriguing conversations from December 1st until the 4th at the Miami Beach Convention Center in the auditorium adjacent to Info Zone D.

Now that you're equipped with some of the interesting, intellectual and inspiring events that will be going down at the year's Art Basel you can plan accordingly and be the artistic buff that you always knew you were.
