Cocktail Hour: Devil's Cherry

Baby, it’s cold outside. Let’s heat things up with a smoky, sweet libation.

One of the highlights of the wintry season isn’t just the excuse to host cozy weekend get-togethers or even the chance to celebrate a champagne-fueled holiday. The arrival of brisk temperatures means that it’s time to take out the bottle of bourbon. This corn-based liquor is a southern comfort that warms patrons up all year long with its smoothness, which is certain to make ladies and gents feel a bit more seductive than usual. Truthfully, bourbon is an acquired taste for those unwilling to give up vodka cocktails or anything featuring tequila, but we have a new drink that’s certain to end this year (or tomorrow’s party for that matter), with a major bang. The Devil’s Cherry is a sinful concoction that masks the taste of bourbon with notes of juicy cherries, ripe apples, and toasted Italian almonds. However, don’t let its sweetness fool you. The Devil’s Cherry includes two types of bourbon, ensuring to beat out any pumpkin drink or spiked egg nog. Let it snow and unleash your wild side tonight. If you're in New York City, feel free to stop by Park Avenue Tavern to try this signature cocktail of theirs.
