Cocktail Hour: Hard Rocker Cider

by Stephanie Nolasco
11.30.2011

Holiday season is officially here and it’s filled with extravagant parties that are guaranteed to get you in the spirit, especially when they feature a perfect cocktail to light up the remaining months of 2011. Enjoy a yearly tradition of sipping on good ol' cider, which is certain to beat the freezing temperatures to come and keep you feeling refreshed on the dance floor. However, this isn’t your grandmother’s recipe. The Hard Rocker Cider is an inviting and delicious mix of crisp, snow-kissed apples, tart cranberries, as well as orange-infused liqueur for a touch of zest. Of course, no party would be complete without some tequila to kick off the night. Lightly sweetened with delicate floral notes, the Hard Rocker Cider is a playful number to serve at casual get-togethers. Not only does it stand out at any bar, but it’s certain to be the center of attention at any soiree. Loud relatives, bad gifts, and jean busting meals have nothing on this winner.

Hard Rocker Cider Cocktail Recipe (Makes 6 servings)

Ingredients
1 cup Cabo Wabo Reposado Tequila
4 cups Apple cider
1 cup Cranberry juice cocktail
¼ cup Orange Liqueur
1 tsp. Nutmeg
Cinnamon sticks

Preparation
In a pot, heat and stir cider, cranberry juice cocktail, and nutmeg on low just until hot for 2 hours. Do not boil. When ready to serve, turn on high for 10 minutes and stir in tequila and liqueur. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
