Clubplanet: You're known for your big room house anthems. When going into the studio for a big project, where do you draw inspiration from?
Nicky Romero: That is a hard question. I get inspiration from loads of things - performing, watching others perform, pop music - that sort of thing.
Clubplanet: What are your major musical influences?
Nicky Romero: Axwell, Dire Straits,
Skrillex and many more.
Clubplanet: Dance music is exploding in America. Do you think this is only a fad, or it is a trend that will stick?
Nicky Romero: I think it will blend into pop and will take over for sure. Just
look at the collaborations loads of R&B artists are doing with EDM producers at the moment.
Clubplanet: Las Vegas is turning into a massive hub for electronic dance music. You recently played a massive set of music at Haze Nightclub in Las Vegas. What did you think of the club?
Nicky Romero: The bing bling level in Vegas is really big. I love playing
Haze! It might not always have that underground feel, but people are ready to party at all times so I love that.
Clubplanet: What's the difference between playing a show in Las Vegas, and any other market in the U.S.?
Nicky Romero: There are definitely markets in the US that are more up to speed with my music, what I am about and where I am coming from. But that doesn't mean Vegas doesn't
know how to party.
Clubplanet: What can we look forward from Nicky Romero for the remainder of the year?
Nicky Romero: Loads! I have a collaboration with Avicii coming up, and I'm also looking to do something with some major vocalists, starting my own label and more.
