It was a grand evening of shopping excess, celebrity mingling, champagne sipping, and boutique hopping, all with a Saturday night soundtrack courtesy of the hottest DJs in nightlight.
And it may never happen again.
On Thursday, September 8th stylish ladies and gents from all over the five boroughs flocked to Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue where they celebrated the annual
Fashion's Night Out, famously coined as “the after-hours shopping extravaganza.” And after two years of featuring glamorous parties and
cocktail soirees all in the name of couture, one of the biggest events in the fashion industry may be axed for good.
While officials haven’t confirmed or denied the rumors, there are several known reasons why Fashion’s Night Out may be out. According to sources, many locals have voiced their complaints about it, all involving “store overcrowding,” “noise pollution,” and “outdoor binge drinking.” Plus, it seems like retailers are giving away more free goods than actually selling supposed sought after collections. Perhaps the glitz behind Fashion’s Night Out is dimming and it may be time to walk away from a good thing.
Tell us, do you think Fashion’s Night Out should be over?
