Summer Tips: Bikinis, Monokinis, and Sarongs

Now that the summer season is officially here, there are tons of opportunities to flash some skin. This means that it’s time to seriously toss that old worn-out black one-piece and upgrade to something sexy. In order to navigate the world of swimwear, you must first explore your options before picking the best one that suits your figure. Test out these tried and true tips on how to pick the perfect swimsuit and accessories so you’ll be hotter than the sun at the next pool party!

Top Swimsuit Must-Have: Bikini
Bikinis are the quintessential swimsuit for the summer. Whether you’re into the traditional string bikini or you’re bold enough to don a barely-there Brazilian cut, they are a great option for those who want to flaunt some skin and get some great tan lines! In order to choose the best bikini, you have to take a few things into account. If you are busty, you should opt for a halter style bikini top. Sofia Vergara loves halter bikinis because they provide more support. If you are pear shaped, you should look for a solid bikini bottom as the one color will help detract from the lower half of the body. For tops, search for bright or patterned as they work well with tans. Plus, they’re flirty and cute!

Top Swimsuit Must-Have: Classic One-Piece
Back in the day, the traditional black one piece was considered a must-have item for all women who wanted to strut their stuff on the beach without showing too much. Fast forward to the present and one-pieces have undergone some major transformations. The monokini is a perfect way to do the one-piece without feeling or looking matronly. Kim Kardashian single-handedly made the monokini in vogue and you can too. Look for simple colors, such as white, turquoise, and even black. It’s all about the cut-outs and where they are placed that will make a monokini work! They also double as sexy bodysuits under sheer tops and cover-ups.

Top Swimsuit Must-Have: It’s a Wrap
So, you may have found the perfect swimsuit, but you don’t feel comfortable walking down the boardwalk or through the hotel lobby in just a bikini. Sarongs and wraps are great ways to cover up when you’re not sunbathing or taking a dip. Full sarongs are great as they can be worn slung across the hips during the day and can be also tied up into a sexy halter style dress at night. Wraps are fun because they’re short, cute, and very easy to wear.
