Don’t call it a comeback because the most controversial spirit never went out of style! Back in 2009, patrons couldn’t get enough of absinthe, the anise-flavored liquor that’s famous for reportedly causing hallucinations among faithful drinkers. After being banned in the United States for almost a century, the high proof herbal beverage was officially legal to purchase in 2007, creating a high demand for absinthe cocktails. Today, the official drink of bohemians still reigns supreme among night owls looking for something potent on a Saturday night. In time for the upcoming steamy season, fly with the green fairy by drinking a “Summer Nights,” a sensual blend of ice cold gin, plump berries, freshly squeezed orange juice, ginger syrup for a touch of spice, and of course, the emerald green elixir. Make everyone at your favorite hot spot green with envy by ordering the scandalous Summer Nights cocktail to beat the heat.
