We're only in the first week of 2011, and electronic dance music fans are already wondering where the best festival music lineups will be? As far as we're concerned, Mannheim, Germany's Time Warp 2011 has everyone beat at the moment. While Ultra Music Festival recently released their lineup for March's big event in downtown Miami, it still lacks the true star power from the European tech-house scene. Not to say that they have a lackluster lineup, with names like Tïesto, deadmau5, David Guetta and Carl Cox it's nothing short of amazing, names that have become a core group of headliners for the event.
Time Warp 2011 recently announced their headliners, and there isn't much of a surprise here either. Now in it's 17th year, the German EDM festival will bring in Sven Vath, Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Magda, Karotte and Dubfire to headline the event. Other names include Luciano, Masomenos, Laurent Garnier, Luke Slater and Carl Craig. It's pretty easy to spot the differences between these two lineups. While one caters to the European sound and audience, the other is meant for the U.S. crowd that's still fine tuning their ears to the many sub-genres of EDM.
More lineups are to come out of the U.S. and Europe. You can also expect a lot more electronic artists to pop up in more mainstream festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza.
