It's about time we got some new noise from Boys Noize. One of our favorite electro DJs will be releasing a new compilation of previously unreleased acid-inspired tracks with a series of other acid-loving producers. The compilation is titled Super Acid and will be available as a double-vinyl pack as well as in CD form.
The acid-style sound first hit music shops back in ’82 with the use of the Roland TB-303. Electronic music today still appreciates this style of music, and Boys Noize, along with Feadz and Erol Alkan, show off their love of the 303 on Super Acid in trippy form.
The producers on this album varied hugely in the way they created the tracks. While some spent tons of time using high-tech analog gear and mixers to create that truly warbly acidic sound, others just used a laptop. Most producers did use a classic Roland 303 while some got their hands on a 303 clone or plug-in. And the most modern version of the 303 used to get that acidy warm fuzz going? The 303 iPhone app. Don’t trip, Super Acid will be released on Boys Noize Records on January 31st.
