Igloofest is ready to rock the chill away from your shivering bones in Montreal. A total of nine outdoor dance parties will take place at the end of January over three straight weekends during the coldest time of the entire year.
Set around actual igloos and ice sculptures alongside the St. Laurent River, this annual frigid music festival is expected to draw more than 40,000 fans ready to bundle up, dance and party hard in the frosty open-air parties.
Igloofest is host to a whole slew of international DJs and live acts. On opening weekend, the Berlin-based tech house spinners Seth Troxler and Anja Schneider will beat the chill with the party-pumping duo Stanton Warriors. The next weekend brings Mutek to the ice-cold party scene, also featuring Isolee, Pepe Bradock and the local acts of Akufen and Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts.
Also that weekend, hip-hopper and Chicago native Kid Sister will be performing for the freezing crowd along with the Made to Play outfit Round Table Knights. The final weekend brings on Detroit’s Carl Craig, local Ninja Tune producer Poirier, and London dupstep artist Ikonika. Are you ballsy enough to brave the cold and beat the beat at Igloofest?
