This year, DJ hero and head of the Crosstown Rebels, Damian Lazarus, had a dilemma. Usually, Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival were held around the same time at the end of March. This year, as we all know by now,
things have definitely changed. Now, people coming to Miami who would normally attend two amazing music events are stuck either only seeing one, or staying in Miami for a whole month to attend both. Even the diehards are going to find it hard to take time off and find lodging for that long. So, for the clubs and parties in Miami that normally got a huge audience at the end of March, now their numbers are going to be cut in half…or so many seem to believe.

Get Lost party during the WMC, and he just recently tweeted that the party will be held on Saturday, March 26th, 2011. He’s basically ignoring the rescheduled time for the WMC, and continuing business as usual. Not to say that he's neglecting the WMC dates, but the party may have already been mapped out and planned before the dates were released.
This shouldn't be seen as an act of defiance, but should serve as an example. Don't be surprised if you hear that your favorite annual WMC party is scheduled around Ultra. The dates haven't changed for years, so naturally a lot of planning had taken place before they were released.
