Steve Aoki Kicks of Thanksgiving Week in Miami

Who would have known that electro would eventually turn into the punk rock of electronic music? Thanks in part to acts like Bloody Beetroots and Skrillex (although he's a bit more on the dub-step side) the electro culture seems to be blossoming again. But there's one man who's always served up electro and mixed major pop-tracks in his own way, Steve Aoki.

He's been focusing on his live show more and more, and if you've caught one of his recent sets you'll know that he loves to jump on the mic, scream, yell and head-bang. While the old-school fans of EDM may not appreciate it, Aoki's young fans eat up the show and enjoy the energy that his live performances exude. This week he's back in Miami again and playing Mansion nightclub, a staple in South Beach nightlife.

The last time we caught one of Aoki's sets it was actually at Mansion, and the line behind the velvet rope nearly wrapped around the block. This week's event is on Wednesday, and while we'd normally think that a show on a Wednesday night won't be that big of a seller, it's Thanksgiving week, meaning that most of us are out on Thursday night, so be prepared for a sold-out show.
