Notorious mash-up artist,
Girl Talk
, just dropped his latest album,
All Day, earlier today with a
free download on his website available to fans. The album was released through his own label, Illegal Art, because he doesn’t pay for the samples he uses to make his music.
This is a big day for Girl Talk. It’s been two years since the release of his last album, “Feed the Animals,” which earned him huge praise. In an interview with Pitchfork Media, Girl Talk (aka Greg Gillis), said that he just powered through last summer with non-stop intensive work, and at the end he had the album.
The New York Times once called Girl Talk
a “lawsuit waiting to happen,” and even with the hype and fame that’s coming from this new album, Gillis is sticking to his roots and refusing to play the music industry game.
