If you’re tired of hearing overly-produced hip-hop from guys who only rap about money, then do yourself a favor and head out to Santos Party House this Tuesday, October 5th. The Smoker’s Club Tour will be making its round in NYC, bringing along some of the best true hip-hop artists in the game including former Young Money member, Curren$y, as well as lesser-known but equally-praised artists, Big K.R.I.T and Smoke DZA.
All three of these guys are taking hip-hop back to its roots, giving all of us true fans the real, honest and cool, laid-back style hip-hop has been lacking these days. Curren$y’s album, Pilot Talk, has gotten rave reviews from critics, which is the case for emerging talent Big K.R.I.T. as well, whose album, K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, ranked #4 on Complex magazine’s list of the best albums of 2010 so far.
The tour is sponsored by High Times and if you are familiar with Curren$y’s style and lyrics, then you should understand the general vibe of this show. Also expect special appearances by Mac Miller and Boaz. Tickets are just $20 and doors open at 7 p.m.
