How to Hook Up on New Year's Eve

Start the countdown: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… Happy New Year! Enter: lively crowd, champagne bottles popping and confetti falling from above. Okay, Okay, maybe we are a few—ahem, 100, to be exact—days ahead of ourselves. Anyways, we are simply excited for the arrival of the most anticipated night of the entire year: New Year’s Eve. So, we are going to back track just a bit. Instead of already celebrating New Year’s Eve, we are going to give you some pointers for the festive event; specifically, advice on how to hook up on New Year’s Eve—fellas, listen up!

Besides buying a brand new outfit, getting your hair did and deciding which party to attend, there is only one question on every single individual’s mind prepping for New Year’s Eve: Who will my New Year’s Eve kiss be from? Although we do not have the answer to that exact question, we can advise you on how to put all the right variables in place to guarantee a New Year’s Eve kiss; hey, maybe you get lucky and score something more than just one kiss—just saying! If you are in a relationship, you might want to listen up too; you are not in the clear, as you might mess up your chances to hook up with the one you love.

First off, appearances are everything (or at least for New Year’s Eve). It is critical that your outfit is on point. Ladies, wear a dress; it’s the perfect way to be sexy and sophisticated all at the same time. Also, treat yourself this time around and splurge on a new outfit. Guys, step it up a notch with your wardrobe for New Year’s Eve. Opt for a more elegant, yet still edgy look. The perfect way to do this is pairing a button down and blazer with slacks or jeans (for a more effortless look). Take it from the guys here at the office, adding a bow tie to your look ups your sex appeal. Finish it off with a polished cut, and you are good to go.

Lastly, be sure to let loose for New Year’s Eve. In order to impress the girl/guy you are trying to hook up with, you have to allow yourself to step out of your comfort zone. You have nothing to lose. If you are at a party, enjoy the music and have a drink (or five) to put you in that feel-good mood. If you happen to attend a more chill event (dinner, for example), spark up an interesting conversation; remember: it is New Year’s Eve so stray away from any kind of serious talk—be easy!
