What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... or at least it’s supposed to. For a city that has emerged from nothing in little over a century and now boasts over one million residents - and probably triple times the tourists - you can't help but believe that they’re actually good at what they brag about. This said, check out some of the best bars in town contributing to Sin City’s reputation.
Best Bar in Las Vegas:
Blondie’s Sports Bar
3663 S. Las Vegas Blvd
Blondie's is perfect if you want to reminisce you college days or juts drink for cheap on The Strip. Thier all-you-can-drink happy hour and beer pong deals for only $20 will make you keep coming back. Blondie’s has the prime setup for serious sports fanatics. They have over 40 plasma TVs just to make sure you can see all the major games from any angle in the bar. Located inside the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino, there is always something fun to do in this quaint neighborhood bar.. Tuesday nights are College Nights, but if you’re in a more competitive mood, go on a Thursday night for their weekly Beer Pong Tourneys. According to them, “Blondie’s is ‘your home away from home’ bar.” Although we can’t promise they will all be blondes, what’s better than waitresses dressed in cheerleading outfits serving you traditional bar foods as you sit on their patio overlooking the Miracle Mile Shops.
Best Bar in Las Vegas:
Ghostbar at the Palms
4321 W. Flamingo Rd
Out of all of the venues in the Palms, this one is a must-go. On the 55th floor of the Palms Hotel and Casino resides one of Vegas’ top must-visit hotspots. The loungey, intimate setting at Ghostbar lends itself to a low-key atmosphere with high energy potential. There’s plenty of seating and VIP areas, but your best bet to score a good table in this small venue is the bottle service. The futuristic décor keeps it interesting, but the wow-factor is the transparent section of the floor in the patio. It’s a great way to conquer your fear of heights as you look down onto the pool deck and ahead you overlook the glittering city. Enjoy 270 degrees of killer views and strong drinks all night long.
Best Bar in Las Vegas:
Rockhouse Bar
3535 S. Las Vegas Blvd
If you’re not in the mood for the big club scene, opt out for a more divey bar scene. Feel like dancing in a giant bird cage? Or would dangling from a tire swing be more your style? If you’re looking for a place to release your inner rock star, then Rockhouse is most definitely for you. This self-proclaimed “ultra dive bar” blends rock and roll inspirations with the local dive bar scene. During the day you can get a refreshing drink at their walk-up daiquiri bar or take advantage of their two-for-one beer specials. If you’re feeling really ballsy, try their 80 ounce plastic life-size guitar filled with slushy alcoholic beverages that you can strap on your shoulder and sip from its extra-long straw. Rock on, peeps!
Best Bar in Las Vegas:
VooDoo Lounge at Rio
3700 W. Flamingo Rd
Although a little bigger than most bars, Voodo0 is about halfway point between a large bar and a small club. Ride up the 51 floors up the Rio to reach Voodoo Lounge will be one of the most memorable elevator rides of your life. Enjoying breathtaking views of the Strip from inside the glass elevator as the streets and cars get smaller. If the “voodoo-French-Quarter-esque” theme is a little much for you, check out their rooftop patio and admire the city’s bright lights. The outside 40-ton staircase connecting to the VooDoo Steak restaurant downstairs features an American flag flying high that is the perfect backdrop for a romantic dinner- yes, they actually serve food there.
Best Bar in Las Vegas:
Fontana Bar at the Bellagio
3600 S. Las Vegas Blvd
Outside patios in the middle of a desert might sound excruciatingly hot, but it always helps when there’s a steady stream of cool mists in the air. Take in the breathtaking views of dancing waters on an 8-acre lake at the lakeside Fontana Bar. Have a few drinks and enjoy good, live entertainment in elegant atmosphere fit for young, single professionals. Check out Dian Diaz’s vocals or the East Coast rock band named Isis. This high-end lounge’s fountain show is a great conversation starter you can use to strike up a talk with anyone. Be wary of a windy night, you could get sprayed by the fountain’s water while lounging on their charming, outdoor patio.
Best Bar in Las Vegas:
Coyote Ugly
3790 S. Las Vegas Blvd
This displaced Southern dive bar oozes as much sensuality and Southern style as it does Jim Beam. Ladies, feel free to get up on the bar if the Coyotes aren’t performing and you might score some free shots. Just like in the movie, the hot female bartenders will dazzle you with their bar top dance routines and lip singing abilities- they always know how to get a crowd rowdy. Try to steer clear of the random water sprayings and f-bombs because these ladies like to call the shots as much as they like to pour them. If you’re thirsty, a shot of cheap tequila or a beer are your only options. No fancy cocktails here. If you don’t like the music, put some money in the juke box. No big-name DJs either. At the end of the night, their patron’s bras or ties are more than welcome to stay behind and add to the ongoing collection.
