Between nights at the hottest Hollywood clubs and late night concerts downtown, we are guessing you aren’t sneaking off to attend wine tastings. But now that is all about to change. Get your head out of the gutter, WTFLA stands for "Wine Tasting for Los Angeles" and brings networking, wine tastings and parties all together for rowdy nights of sipping the good stuff.
If you have always wanted to learn about wine, but were turned off by stuffy classes (and the price tag) these events were made for you. WTFLA primarily partners with independent local wineries to provide cheap (if not free) wine tastings with the goal of empowering young wine drinkers. The creator, Leah Hennessy, is a young wino herself and her company, Millenier Wine, provides consulting to “companies in the wine industry to teach them how to reach out to the next generation of wine drinkers.”
The next event is on May 18th and will be a FREE mixer at High, the amazing rooftop bar at Hotel Erwin. The party will feature two wineries, Santa Barbara’s Byron and Santa Maria’s Cambria. The winemakers will be at the shindig so enjoy four complimentary wines, two from each winery. After you get nice and tipsy, stick around and mingle with the experts. Later this month WTFLA will host a $32 wine tasting class discussing fun topics like “Terrible Wine Myths.” Check out the website for more details.
