Rooftop Film Summer Series 2010

Summers in NYC are always hot, busy and full of adventure. One of the great treats this summer is the outdoor feature film screenings hosted by Rooftop Film, now in its 14th year running their Summer Series. It begins May 20th and runs through August 20th. 

With over 2,500 submissions from over 50 countries, this event provides a forum for both emerging and seasoned film professionals to showcase their personal cinematic stories and anecdotes. This year there will be over 100 short films and 28 full length features, including world premieres and award winning pieces and two special live music soundtracks performances.

Rooftop Films has always been about the “live collective feeling,” utilizing unique spaces and communities to create an experience in the open air above ground level, with meaningful connections between the story and location. The venues are scattered throughout the boroughs and range from artist buildings, schools, environmental centers, parks and piers. These events include, live music, Q&A with filmmakers and an after-party with free drinks all for $10, available online or at the door. Check out a list of screenings below:
